North American Construction Group Selects Wenco for Operations at CNRL

April 2010 – Vancouver B.C. North American Construction Group (NACG) has selected Wenco for operations at Canadian Natural Resources Ltd’s Horizon mine site to remove overburden.
Wenco will be installing its latest release of software, rugged mobile data terminals on the entire fleet consisting of 34 trucks and 4 shovels. The system designed for NACG includes a contractor integration module to manage the tracking and movement of NACG mining equipment to and from the CNRL fleet on a periodic basis, designed to allow movement of selected equipment under control.
The CNRL contractor integration module is specifically developed to meet the needs of contractors with the management and tracking of contractor equipment to and from the owner/operator fleet on a periodic basis. The module will allow NACG and CNRL to jointly move the Fleet Management System control of selected NACG equipment from the NACG System to the CNRL System and back again. While the mining equipment is under CNRL control all data for that specific equipment will be stored by the CNRL Fleet Management System.
This module is available for all Contractors working alongside an Owner/Operator who are both running Wenco Fleet Management Systems.
The complete system selected by NACG includes Fleet Control, MineVision and Wenco’s Line-up Utility: A software component that facilitates the allocation of operators to mining equipment at the start of the shift.
About NACG and CNRL
NACG has been contracted to remove approximately 400 million bank cubic metres (BCM) of overburden, including 300 million BCM of tailing dyke construction.
Canadian Natural Resources Limited’s Horizon Project is located 70 kilometres north of Fort McMurray in the Alberta oil sands.
