Polyus Gold, one of the world’s largest gold producers has implemented the Wenco Fleet Management System at Olympiada mine. Implementing the Wenco Fleet Management System is a key contribution to Polyus’ innovative strategy to boost production, net income, and market cap to become one of the top 5 global gold producers.
The system for Olympiada is designed to focus on monitoring the mining fleet, drilling, and auxiliary equipment. The first phase of the system was implemented in 2007, and according to a press release on the Polyus website, showed immediate results of increased efficiency in truck and loader usage as well as increased equipment utilization. The reporting systems immediately improved with more reliable data on idle and repair time. Dispatching also provided significant benefit to the operations as production levels were maintained while the operating fleet was reduced by two trucks.
The Wenco’s system features the ability to automatically assign trucks, optimizing equipment to maintain quality targets at stockpiles, crushers, or blend points. By implementing The Wenco Fleet Management System, mines have increased efficiency and production, eliminating the need to purchase additional production equipment.
