Wenco International Mining Systems (www.wencomine.com), a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), provides world-class productivity software and operator safety solutions for the world’s surface mining operations.

Wenco has R&D offices located in Australia, Canada and Chile. This role is based in the Wenco Headquarters, Richmond, BC.

The Role

You will inspire and lead a team of software developers who are primarily working on Wenco’s Fleet Management System (FMS), helping Wenco’s customers to maximize the production, efficiency, and safety of their mine.

In partnership with product management, customer support and business teams you will plan and deliver the FMS roadmap and maintain a high quality product for Wenco’s mining customers.

As a leader with a strong technical background, you will drive continuous improvements in software development practices within your chapter.

As a leader who is passionate agile practices, you will lead agile events and provide agile coaching to your team.

The Experience

Must Have

You have 5+ years experience as a software development leader
You have a strong technical background, with an emphasis on strong C++, C# and software design skills
You have a deep understanding of agile software development practices, you know how to apply agile to reliably deliver solutions to complex problems
You can collaborate with product managers, engineers, business leaders and other stakeholders to successfully deliver valuable & innovative products for our customers

‍Nice to Have

You have prior experience with the mining industry and/or mining operational systems like Fleet Management

Education & Eligibility

Bachelor Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
Must be eligible to work in Canada
This role may require some travel to customers sites or international Wenco offices(<10%)
