Wenco International Mining Systems (www.wencomine.com), a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), provides industry leading, innovative technologies to customers in the mining and material movement sectors, enabling sustainable and safe operations.
Reporting to the Director, Open Autonomy, the Project Manager’s primary responsibilities are to lead regional Open Autononomy implementation projects within Australia. Lead end-to-end technology implementation projects, from initiation to closing, including updates, upgrades as well as successful handover to support teams. Open Autonomy creates provides integration between OEM agnostic autonomous haulage systems (AHS) and Wenco’s fleet management system (FMS) and other related components.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- This includes the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling and closing processes related to the implementation of these technology projects. Provide functional project leadership to guide, motivate, and direct teams
- Manage and understand technical aspects by effectively utilizing subject matter experts
- Ensure delivery of value and strategic business outcomes
- Effectively manage scope, schedule, cost, resources, risks, quality, communications and stakeholders, including detailed project management plans, documents, artifacts, for each various domain as needed.
- Work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, across multiple organizations.
- Provide project reporting as required internally and externally
- Ensure centralized and efficient information sharing using appropriate business tools in effective ways
Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum of 3+ years of project management experience managing enterprise level Operational Technology (OT) or Information Technology (IT) projects in the mining, oil, gas, construction, military, utility, or other similar industry.
- Experience managing large-scale technology projects involving system integrations, upgrades, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Preference for candidates with functional and/or technical understanding of mining technology systems (e.g., Fleet management systems, machine guidance, autonomy, GPS/GNSS based systems, etc.)
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create scope, schedule, communication and other project management plans to successfully manage projects
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira, etc.)
- Maintain documentation in repositories
- Skilled and versed in various project management methodologies and knowledge when to apply each (e.g., Adaptive, Predictive, etc.)
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and remain calm in high pressure situations
Education & Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, MIS, IT, Project Management, Engineering or a related field
- CAPM or PMP certification
- Must be eligible to work in Australia and is based in Perth
- Travel requirements:
- Must be able to travel (10% - 30%).
- Ability to work in remote and on-site mining environments as required
- Weekly visits to customer and industry partner offices within Perth area are required
