We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Brisbane, Queensland office and our dynamic and growing global legal team. We are seeking an ambitious legal professional who thrives on challenge and is eager to make an impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. In this role, you will partner with business leaders, engineers, and commercial teams to manage legal risk and enable strategic growth across Australia and internationally.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including reseller, distributor, supply, and service contracts, software licensing and subscription agreements, partnership and collaboration agreements, and NDAs.
- Employment and HR Matters: Advise on employment and contractor arrangements, workplace policies, and dispute management under Australian law, in coordination with HR.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Support the Company’s global compliance framework, including data privacy, anti-bribery, modern slavery, and export control.
- Intellectual Property: Assist in protecting and managing the company’s IP portfolio, including software licensing, trademarks, confidentiality, and ownership of developed IP.
- Cross-Border Collaboration: Partner with colleagues in Canada, Chile, South Africa, and other jurisdictions on global initiatives, M&A projects, and process improvements.
- External Counsel Management: Engage and supervise external counsel for specialized matters.
- Training & Education: Deliver internal training on key legal and compliance topics to business and technical teams.
- Culture Building: Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to engage with colleagues and foster a culture of compliance and teamwork.
Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission to practice in Australia.
- 5–7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained in a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Strong experience in commercial contracting, technology licensing, and employment law.
- Exposure to intellectual property, export controls, or international transactions is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and provide pragmatic solutions to complex legal and business issues.
- Collaborative, approachable, and adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership and integrity.
