Systems Engineer (Autonomous Systems)

Wenco has offices located in Australia, Canada and Chile. This role is based in Brisbane.

The Role

You will join an agile product development team creating Wenco’s next generation Fleet Management System and Open Autonomy platform. We are looking for someone with strong technical capability for a team creating high performance, high availability business critical capabilities. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for helping to create and mature the systems engineering capabilities within Wenco R&D with a focus on automation and simulation.

The Experience

Must Have:

• You have 3+ years' experience working on complex systems comprised of edge and cloud computing elements, sensing and sensor processing communicating using fixed and wireless networks
• You have a strong software development background, preferably in Python and C++
• You have experience leveraging automation and simulation frameworks for product development and verification of systems against requirements
• You enjoy working in an environment where you are learning new technologies and new concepts and solving complex problems with your team

‍Nice to Have:

• You have experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• You have prior experience with the mining industry and/or mining operational systems such as Asset Health or Fleet Management
• You have worked in the autonomous vehicle or robotics industry

Education & Eligibility

• Bachelor Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
• Must be eligible to work in Australia
• This role may require some travel within Australia as well as internationally (<15%)
