A Partnership Built on Trust and Innovation
In the mining industry, technology must be more than innovative — it must be reliable, rugged, and operator-approved. For over 15 years, the Wenco–Motium partnership has delivered integrated fleet management solutions that combine advanced mining software with ruggedized hardware, trusted by operators and site managers across the globe.
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reflecting on how customer feedback has driven our joint evolution — shaping product design, improving performance in the field, and ensuring our solutions meet the demands of modern mining operations.
Customer-Centric Innovation: Listening, Learning, Evolving
From our earliest deployments to today’s high-performance, fully integrated fleet systems, one principle has remained constant: we listen to our customers. Operators, fleet managers, and maintenance teams have consistently influenced product design through real-world feedback, helping shape rugged hardware and fleet management software that meets the demands of modern mining.
“When you're providing mission-critical systems in some of the toughest conditions, reliability isn’t optional — it’s everything. The strength of our 15-year partnership with Motium lies in our mutual dedication to listening to customers and delivering dependable solutions. Their rugged hardware and responsive service have been instrumental in helping Wenco deliver globally respected, industry-leading fleet management systems around the world,” — Glen Trainor, VP Services and Supply Chain, Wenco
This feedback loop has helped us deliver solutions that are not only technically advanced but also intuitive, durable, and field-ready.

Timeline of Customer-Driven Innovation
2009–2012: Enhancing Usability in Harsh Conditions
Early deployments revealed the need for glove-friendly touchscreens, simplified interfaces, and sunlight-readable displays. Motium responded with improved tactile feedback and rugged screen technology tailored for mining environments.
2013–2016: Supporting Data-Rich Fleet Management
As Wenco’s software became more data-intensive, operators requested faster load times and smoother navigation. Motium upgraded onboard computing power to support real-time analytics and responsive user interfaces.
2017–2020: Seamless System Integration
Fleet managers sought better integration between onboard hardware and back-end systems. This led to enhanced connectivity, remote diagnostics, and streamlined data flow between field devices and enterprise platforms.
2023–Present: Smarter Responsiveness with Tougher Durability
As customers increasingly expect smartphone-like responsiveness in rugged environments, projected capacitive (PCAP) touch has become a standard. An upgradeable PCAP solution delivers this with strengthened glass, a water-repellent surface, and multi-touch clarity—making it a smarter, tougher upgrade for Wenco’s fleet technology.
Designing for the Real World: Field-Tested, Operator-Approved
Mining environments are unforgiving. That’s why field testing and operator feedback are central to our development process. Every feature and hardware upgrade is tested under real-world conditions — dust, vibration, extreme temperatures, and long shifts.
"As a third-party supplier serving multiple industries, Motium understands the complexities of our operating environment and customer expectations. Throughout the years, Motium has consistently demonstrated flexibility in addressing challenges and introducing modern technologies without compromising the stability of our products on the mine site" — Reid Given, Product Line Manager, Wenco
This commitment to usability ensures that our technology performs where it matters most — in the cab, on the shift, and in the pit.
Rugged Hardware That Powers Advanced Mining Software
As Wenco’s mining fleet management platform has grown more powerful, Motium’s rugged hardware has evolved in lockstep — delivering increased computing power, improved connectivity, and unmatched durability.
This synergy between reliable hardware and innovative software is a direct result of continuous collaboration and customer-driven design, enabling operators to run even the most complex features smoothly in the field.
Looking Ahead: Innovation Powered by Customer Insight
Customer feedback isn’t a checkbox, it’s the engine behind our innovation. As we look ahead, Wenco and Motium remain committed to designing technology that works for the people who use it — because that’s what builds trust, drives adoption, and delivers real value.
Here’s to the next 15 years of listening, learning, and evolving — together.
